Q: What does a typical property cost to mow, trim, edge and clean off sidewalks?
A: Most lawn prices for a typical 1/4 to 1/3 acre lot start at $40 and go up from there based on the size of property and contour of terrain. We offer multiple discounts which are not reflected in this price.

Q: What does a typical landscape design cost?
A: Landscape design fees begin at $225 for a hand sketch drawn to scale on graph paper. The rendering will be drawn in pencil. This design fee is refunded if the total project is valued at over $5,000 and Groundshog performs the project.

Q: How long does it take to have design installed?
A: For smaller projects of 1-2 days, we can usually schedule the project to begin in 4 -6 weeks. If it involves a great deal of hardscape installation, such as patios and retaining walls, and if permits must be pulled, the project may take as long as 4-6 months to schedule. If you need a project complete under a tighter timeline, please contact us to see what options are available.

Q: How many mowing are in a typical season?
A: Groundshog will typically mow a property 26 times per season if the property is on an every-week schedule. We will typically mow 17 times if the property is on an every-other-week schedule.

Q: When does Groundshog typically perform its work schedules?
A: See our customized work schedule here.

Q: What does it cost to perform an aeration?
A: Prices start at $100. A 1/3 acre usually will cost $150, depending on terrain and layout.

Q: What does it cost to remove leaves?
A: There is a $45 per-hour, per-man charge that includes labor, fuel, and equipment. We typically work in crews of 2-3. There is a dump fee if leaves must be hauled off site. If you prefer, we can also quote you a flat price for completion of your property. We offer multiple discounts which are not reflected in this price.

Q: When is the best time to have my lawn treated for crabgrass?
A: The best time to treat crabgrass with a pre-emergent is in March through mid-April.

Q: When is the best to prune shrubbery?
A: The short answer is that spring-blooming shrubs should be pruned after the blooms have fallen off, normally around June. Summer-blooming specimens such as Crape Myrtles are typically pruned in late March to early April. Perennials are typically pruned after they have bloomed. Sometimes we leave ornamental grasses over the winter to add interest to a garden, but you can also cut back grasses late in the fall. Most evergreen hedges and other shrubs are typically pruned in late spring and again in late fall.

Q: Does Groundshog perform any single item services without an annual maintenance contract?
A: Yes, we will perform a spring or fall cleanup, aeration or any of our other services.
